Veritas Evangelical Seminary was co-founded by Norman L. Geisler (Chancellor) and Joseph M. Holden (President) in 2008 to expand the vision of educating educators, training trainers, and teaching teachers to proclaim the gospel, equip the saints, and defend the historic Christian faith through classically conservative biblical scholarship.
VES was granted corporation status by the California Department of State and our original campus location in Murrieta, California, was graciously granted by Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.
The Seminary was awarded its 501(c)3 non-profit tax exempt status.
The Seminary holds it’s first course.
Dr. Norman L. Geisler was appointed to the VES Norman L. Geisler Chair of Christian Apologetics.
VES held its first graduation commencement before a standing-room-only crowd in the campus auditorium. The first two VES graduates, Frank Correa (Summa Cum Laude) and Garrett Young, were awarded the Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.T.S.) degree.
After an examination of Veritas Evangelical Seminary documents and a review of our degree programs, VES was granted permission to grant degrees in the state of California on September 14, 2010. Veritas Evangelical Seminary’s degree programs meet California state requirements for non-profit religious corporation exemption pursuant to California Education Code Section 94874(e) as verified by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE).
On April 3, 2012, Veritas Evangelical Seminary was granted Candidate Status (provisional accreditation) by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS), a national accrediting association recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Accreditation Association (CHEA), and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
On June 2 the Seminary opened the doors to its new campus location in Santa Ana, California.
Veritas Evangelical Seminary receives full accreditation from the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS).
